Ryker & Jenny met at Cornell University in 2014. Through a shared love of cows and agriculture they fell in love. After graduating college Ryker returned to his family's farm, Tre-G Farms, where the farm was completing the transition to Organic and installing two Lely robots to milk the cows. Ryker and his parents, Jim and Sue Smith, own and operate the farm.
Jenny moved south of Buffalo to work on a dairy farm and start a dairy processing plant. Jenny was able to design and construct a brand new creamery in South Dayton, Eden Valley Creamery. She created recipes and produced the cheeses after the plant was opened. In October of 2019 Ryker and Jenny got married and Jenny moved to the farm. They started the business Cheese Smith Consulting, LLC right after getting married, and Jenny started working with dairy processing plants across NYS. Processing dairy products, creating food safety plans and business plans, creating and selling recipes, implementing efficiencies in plants, and designing new processing plants for customers has been the bulk of the business. Jenny has loved working with creameries and sharing in the passion of dairy processing along with offering new ideas. No two processing plants are the same and working with processing plants has been wonderful to see how different ideas can lead to success.
The dream of a farm store and cafe was born in 2022 when Ryker and Jenny wanted to design a place where consumers could gather, learn about the dairy farm and agriculture, while enjoying dairy products from creameries that Jenny has worked with to help showcase and tell the stories of dairy processors across NYS. Eventually the business will start to process Tre-G Farms milk into different dairy products, but we will always showcase the talent and dedication of the customer's Jenny has worked with through the years. When you stop in the store you will most likely be greeted by Jenny, Ryker and their two girls in the store or working around the farm. Ryker and Jenny are so excited to open the store for all to come in and learn about agriculture and dairy farming and to see the God given beauty around the farm.
